  Olum’s and the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central New York are teaming up to celebrate Christmas in July.  Throughout the month of July, donation collection points are available at Olum’s Furniture stores in Vestal, located in the Campus Plaza, and in Syracuse, located at 5775 Bridge Street, East Syracuse and 168 Northern Lights Plaza, Mattydale. These donations will go to support the families of seriously ill children. The Christmas in July Wish List is based on the resources necessary to serve families in need. Immediate needs include: non-perishable food and drinks, household items, office supplies, and gift cards. Since then, more than 17,000 families in need have found comfort and hope at the home in Syracuse. Over the last 27 years, the organization has expanded from seven to sixteen guest bedrooms and has implemented the administration of a mini-grants program for charities meeting the needs of children in Central New York. ===================================================================================================



Farm Sanctuary will host their Annual New York Country Hoe Down at the Watkins Glen shelter on Saturday, July 31st and Sunday, August 1st.
T. Family Enrichment Network will be offering FREE nutritious meals and snacks for community parents and children during the summer months.  Meals and snacks will be served now through September 3, 2010.  Morning snack will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday each week (except July 5th) at 24 Cherry Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 in the Cafeteria.
